To Verona the recognition of the Italian Association of the University Incubators, the PNICube, for spreading the culture of enterprise in the university field and shortening distances between research and market.
This year, the University of Verona, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, has hosted the National Award for Innovation (PNI), the largest and most widespread Italian business plan competition. To be rewarded, the best innovative business projects coming from the winners of the 15 regional competitions (StartCup). 47 universities and associated incubators have been involved in the event, as well as several other institutions.
The partecipation has been numerically high, with 2,388 new entrepreneurs, for a total of 797 enterprise ideas and 315 business plans presented. The winners were selected among the 59 startup finalists by a qualified jury composed of representatives of the business world, university research and venture capital. The selection was based on criteria such as originality of the entrepreneurial ides, technical feasibility, interest in investors, adequacy of the team skills, attractiveness to the market.
The participation of SmartOsso has attracted considerable interest, through appointments and meetings with investors and mentors from all parts of Italy.
